AJ has had a wonderful time and very easy transition to his new class, he has made many new friends and told me last night that one of his friends was in DMC (in school suspension). He said "Mom, I am not mad at him, but I am disappointed that he was being mean and not following the rules" I told him that I understood and asked what he was going to do. His reply was "The only thing I can do, be nice and follow the rules. When he is back in class I will play with him, but only if he is being nice." I asked what he was going to do if his friend was being mean again and he said, "I am going to tell him that it is not nice to be mean and hurt the other kids, we should all be friends, because we are all brothers and sisters in God's eyes. And we are not allowed to be mean to our brothers or sisters"

Well said my son, well said!!

One Handed...

I had an accident last Friday with my right hand, by the way I am right handed! So this week has been exhausting, trying to do everything left handed and not getting the right hand wet. One week down, hopefully one week to go. There was minor tendon damage so I cannot move my finger, well I can, but the Dr doesn't want me too.

I was, however, able to see the best Front Office Assistant we had at our family Dr, she stopped working there almost a year ago, but she now works at the orthopedics office! It was great to see her!

Back to the one-handedness... I did make one of the Admins at work laugh when I asked her if she was busy, she said no why, I told her I needed a hand with something. We laughed for a couple of minutes.

Here is a list of things that are difficult to do with one hand:

  • TYPE!!!
  • eat
  • make dinner
  • shower
  • get dressed
  • put make up on
  • blow dry my hair
  • fix my hair
  • open a drink
  • use a phone
  • drive
  • definitely no using the phone while driving, my feet are just not coordinated enough!!
  • write, or sign my name
  • clean anything:(

I have had tremendous help from my husband!!! I don't think I could get through the day with my sanity if not for him, and Him, our Lord, who gives me the peace and ability to look at this situation through a different light!

I have had a crash course on my vanity issues which I thought were almost non-existent after having kids. Boy was I wrong!! I have some major issues with vanity!! I have also been dealing with my control issues, funny, I know I have been asking God to help me give it all up to Him. Let Him be fully in control and allow me to understand that I will be OK, I can not do it all myself. Thank you, I am seeing the light. There is nothing more humbling than having to ask for help to cut your food, asking your five year old to open your water for you, or needing help to do some of the most simple mundane everyday tasks. When you are the type of person who rarely asks for help for anything, unless you are on your death bed, it is truly a humbling experience.

I thank God for this experience, yes, I probably can do it all myself, but why? Why try to prove I don't need any one's help, when all the Lord wants is to help us and for His children to help each other?

I am accepting help, and loosing control, and it feels great!!!

We Have to Say Goodbye:(...

I am having a very difficult time with a particular situation that is forcing us to get rid of our dog. We have had him for almost two years now and he has been a great companion for my husband and the boys. I have always felt like he was a little too much for me to handle but love him just as much as the boys and Jesse do. He is such a sweetheart, and just a giant lap dog!! He frightens many people because of his size and his breed but all in all he is a great family pet. Please keep us in your prayers, that God will help us find a new home for him, I do not want to think of the alternative. Lust look at that sweet face...

Please Pray....

A dear friend and ex-coworker of mine, Allison lost her brother Late Monday afternoon. This was as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident from Sunday evening. The family spent the day together, and Allison enjoyed Sunday afternoon with her brother before the Lord took him home. Allison and James "bear" were very close and this will be a very difficult time for them all. James leaves behind a young son as well. We are praying for peace for this family and the strength they need to endure this path God has chosen for them.

I Have Been Tagged!!!!

I have been tagged, by Erin. So to give her something to do while she stays at home doing nothing,,,(totally kidding, she just had a baby and has two other little ones, 5 and 3...she has her hands full!!) So here are the rules...

Link to the person who tagged you,
Post the rules on your blog,
Write six random things about yourself,
Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs,
Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog,
Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

Random things about ME???...

1) I absolutely hate when people do not use grammar correctly, on more than one occasion I have caught myself correcting my co-workers in the middle of a meeting, conference call, or what have you. It is just a reflex people, we will blame on my fifth grade teacher Mrs. Hudgens. I am pretty sure she is not reading this, so we will blame it on her!

2) I do not like to go to sleep with the house a mess!! Not to say it doesn't happen (more now than ever) but I truly loose sleep over it, or think about it while I should be working.

3) If i do not have too much to do, I forget what I was doing. I know it does not make any sense but unless my mind is going a hundred miles an hour, I just don't know what to do.

4) I hate shopping. Unless I am just in the mood to shop - which means there are no kids going with me!!! In that case I could spend hours at Target. I have to be in a really good mood to go to the mall! There are just too many people!!!

5) I never touch door handles in public places! Too many germs!!

6) I wash my hands way too often, my skin should be falling off!! And my desk, I disinfect my entire office at least three times a week. Again the germ thing!! I know it is just a small case of OCD.

Here is some of the randomness that is me!!! Now it is your turn...Amy, Chelsea, Paloma, Big Mama, Boo Mama, and Shannon.

"Wise" Words from a Five Year Old

Me: "You have 10 minutes to pick up everything on the floor."
Jay:" 10 minutes?"
Me:"Yes, whatever is left is going in the trash"
Jay:" That's impossible"
Me:"Nothing is impossible"
Jay:" That is"
Me:" Nothing is impossible. If they put a man on the moon you can clean your room"
Jay:"Really, I never saw a man on the moon, I don't think that happened, not in my lifetime...."

How do you argue with that?

And, it was not impossible, he did clean his room!!!
