The end of an Era

My little monkey is at his last day of Pre-K. The morning started with, "Hey mom, guess what...today is the last day of school." Oh my goodness, where does the time go? So, we proceed with the "morning march" as I call it;

  • getting the boys out of bed,
  • brushing teeth,
  • brushing what little hair they have,
  • dressing them (anyone who knows Jay knows this could take a while),
  • shoes,
  • find their selected toys they need to take to school with them for the day,
  • the fight over who sits behind the driver (always followed by "Mom, are you driving?" No Jay, I think I'll let you drive today-with as much sarcasm as I can muster up at 6:30 in the morning with no coffee!)
  • the ride to school consists of a small conversation about what kind of days we will be having (putting all bad moods away as soon as we get to the door of the school),

We arrive at the daycare, when AJ informs me of a "wabe sassenbilly," which translated is a Wave Assembly, that they are having at school at 8:30-"Mom, can you go? I think we are having an ice cream party afterwards."(because you know how I can not pass up free ice cream) Any other day, the answer would have been yes, today not so much. We are short three people in the office and the curse of the Holiday's will certainly be upon us (last minute deadlines clients forgot about and a mad rush to get reports out the door before 5 pm on Friday) a sad day for the Silva's our first baby is really growing up.

As if we needed this realization to make that concrete. He no longer makes a "p" sound when he says the letter "f" it is a real "big boy" conversation- minus a few sounds. He is riding his bike with out training wheels, he does not need anyone to help him in the pool, just his floats and he is good!!

One day they are laying in your lap and the next they are going off to school. I guess it is all part of growing up.

Any who, there are fun times to be had this weekend, we are on our way to the lake. Let's let the good times roll!! Louisiana here we come!! Time for a tan:)!!
